Encision Inc. is a medical device company. It designs, develops, manufactures and markets patented surgical instruments that provide safety to patients undergoing minimally invasive surgery. Its segments include Product and Service. The Product segment designs, develops, manufactures and markets patented surgical instruments. The Service segment performs electrical engineering activities for external entities. Its Active Electrode Monitoring (AEM) technology provides surgeons with the desired tissue effects of cutting and coagulating tissue in laparoscopic procedures, while preventing stray electrosurgical energy that can cause tissue injury that may result in death. The AEM system consists of shielded 5mm AEM Instruments and an AEM monitor. Laparoscopic instruments have the integrated AEM design and include the full range of instruments that are common in laparoscopic surgery. The AEM monitor is compatible with electrosurgical generators.
