Before joining GSO Capital, Mr. Gartner worked for Brevan Howard where he was a Portfolio Manager in the Structured Finance Group.
Prior to that, he worked at Nomura Securities International and was involved in trading second-lien mortgage loans and securities.
Prior to Nomura, Mr. Gartner traded subprime and secondlien mortgages at The Winter Group.
Mr. Gartner has priced, acquired and traded over $20 billion of subprime, HELOC and second-lien mortgages.
Mr. Gartner was also the Vice President of Capital Markets at Capital Lease Funding and Portfolio Manager and trader for LASER Advisors hedge fund, where he was involved in trading residential and commercial securities and loans.
He launched his career in the research department of Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette, where he developed quantitative models before moving to the trading desk.
Mr. Gartner holds a BS in Quantitative Analysis from New York University.
