James Nicholson

James Bruce Nicholson is the founder of The Futures Foundation, which was founded in 1998.
He is currently the Co-Chairman of Pressure Vessel Service, Inc. and PVS Technologies, Inc. since 1972.
He is also the Chairman-Emeritus of Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Inc. and the Chairman-Elect of The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan since 2009.
Additionally, he serves as a Director for Cooper Natural Resources, Detroit Public Television, Detroit Economic Club, CIBC Bank USA, and Wayne County Airport Authority (Michigan).
In his former positions, Mr. Nicholson served as the Chairman of Handleman Co. from 2012 to 2013, Chairman of Amerisure Mutual Insurance Co., Non-Executive Chairman of LaSalle Bank Midwest NA from 2005 to 2007, Chairman of McGregor Fund, Lead Independent Director of DTE Energy Co. from 2014 to 2019, and Independent Director of PrivateBancorp, Inc. from 2009 to 2017.
He also held director positions at Amerisure, Inc., American Chemistry Council, Inc., and LaSalle Bank NA. Prior to his career in business, he worked as a Manager at First National Bank of Chicago (Illinois) from 1967 to 1972.
Mr. Nicholson obtained his undergraduate degree from Stanford University in 1965, an MBA from The University of Chicago in 1967, and a graduate degree from the London School of Economics & Political Science in 1968.
