They target high-growth businesses with innovative technology and an experienced management team with a proven track record of growth. They seek board representation, actively participate in strategic decisions, and aim to build their portfolio companies into market leaders. The firm prefers to be the lead or co-lead investor and invests between EUR 1-5 million per round, participating in successive financing rounds. They invest across development stages from startups to pre-IPO companies, and accompany their portfolio companies throughout their development. They favor companies with disruptive products or technology which have reached an advanced stage of development, are likely to generate significant revenues within two to three years, and have exit visibility through IPO or trade sale. In the life sciences sector, IPSA focuses on clinical-stage drug development, medical devices, drug delivery and development services. Their ICT investments are in domains including content, software, enabling technology and infrastructure. The firm also invests in the energy and natural resources sector, focusing on exploration and production, as well as on renewable energy and clean technology.
