Nvidia readies the launch of its Groq racks dedicated to inference

Berkshire Makes Alphabet Its Third-Largest Public Equity Holding
Berkshire Hathaway sharply increased its stake in Alphabet in the second quarter, making Google's parent its third-largest U.S. listed equity position, behind Apple and American Express. The conglomerate held about 106 million Alphabet shares at the end of June, valued at $37.9bn, after an 83% jump in the number of shares held. AMD targets up to $5bn in the bond market
AMD has launched a four-tranche bond offering to raise between $4bn and $5bn and increase its financial flexibility. The deal covers senior unsecured notes maturing in 2029, 2031, 2033 and 2036. Early discussions point to premiums of roughly 70, 90, 100 and 115 basis points, respectively, over US Treasuries. Pricing is expected on August 17.

Cerebras raises its outlook on AI demand

Ancora offers up to $1.2bn for an H.B. Fuller business
Activist investor Ancora Holdings is proposing to buy H.B. Fuller's Building Adhesive Solutions unit in an all-cash deal valued at up to $1.2bn. In a letter to the board, the fund is urging the adhesives maker to consider the divestiture and says it is ready to immediately sign a confidentiality agreement to begin due diligence. Ancora said it re-engaged with H.B. Fuller's management in early July but has received no substantive response since.

Barrick Mining has appointed Sebastiaan Bock as chief executive of its Rest of World division, effective immediately. He will oversee the group's gold and copper assets in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia-Pacific, representing more than 2m gold-equivalent ounces of annual output. He joined Barrick in 2019 as chief financial officer for Africa and the Middle East and became chief operating officer for the region in 2022.
