Mr. Hashem Montasser is Chief Executive Officer & Chief Investment Officer at Aventicum Capital Management (Qatar) LLC.
Mr. Montasser was previously employed as a Director-Business Development by Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc., Head of Asset Management by EFG-Hermes UAE Ltd., Head-Asset Management by Egyptian Financial Group-Hermes Holding Co., and a Managing Director & Head of Asset Management by EFG-Hermes-KSA. At EFG-Hermes, he was overseeing all of the Group’s funds and portfolios.
He was responsible for the overall implementation of the Investment Management Team’s asset allocation strategy and chairs its investment committee.
Most recently, he worked at JPMorgan & Co in London where he had coverage responsibilities for Middle East financial institutions and central banks focusing on fixed income derivatives and alternative investment products.
Prior to that, he worked at Merrill Lynch & Co in New York where he covered corporate and sovereign clients as part of the Emerging Markets Capital Markets Group.
He also spent a short stint as Director of Business Development for New York-based internet start-up Kozmo.com.
He graduated from Harvard University with a dual concentration in Economics and Near Eastern Languages and Civilization and obtained his Masters of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
