Profile

Mr. Bingham co-founded Bingham & Osborn in 1985.
They merged with John Scarborough’s investment advisory business in 1989 to form Bingham Osborn & Scarborough LLC.
After teaching high school and working in international marketing, he entered the investment business in 1981.
He has been widely quoted on investment and financial planning topics in the national press, including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Business Week and U.S.
News and World Report, as well as regional and national radio and television.
He has also spoken at local and national conferences on financial topics and is the technical editor for Eric Tyson’s Investing for Dummies, 2nd edition.
From 2002 to 2004, Mr. Bingham served as an associate member of the CFP Board of Professional Review in Denver.
The Board was responsible for interpreting and enforcing the CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility and Financial Planning Practice Standards.
He is President of the Board of Directors of 1200 California Corporation and serves on the Development Committee of Golden Gate National Parks Association.
He is also a former director and officer of Children’s Garden of California and past president of The University Club of San Francisco.
Other board responsibilities have included Trustee for the Professional School of Psychology, Director for Associated Planners Group and President of the Amherst Association of Northern California.
Mr. Bingham earned a B.A., cum laude, from Amherst College and holds the Certified Financial Planner designation.
He is a resident of San Francisco.
