STORY: :: Rescuers race to find the dozens missing after a landfill collapsed in the central Philippines with more than 100 workers on site

The death toll from the Binaliw landfill collapse had risen to four, an official said on Saturday, as rescue efforts continued for the dozens who remained missing.

Drone footage showed the landfill site after it collapsed on Thursday (January 8), with 110 workers on site at the time.

Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival said in a Facebook post on Saturday the death toll had risen to four and that 12 others had been sent to hospitals.

Thirty-six people were missing based on a Friday (January 9) tally. An update on the number of missing was not immediately available.
