Mr. Stephen E.
Macdonald is a Senior Investment Counsellor & Portfolio Manager at BMO Private Investment Counsel, Inc. With over 20 years of investment management and leadership experience, he offers professional expertise and advice to help clients grow, protect, optimize, and most importantly – enjoy their hard-earned wealth.
He works with clients and their families to understand their goals and priorities, and then implements and oversees institutional caliber investment management strategies.
In his most recent role, he was President & Chief Executive Officer of BMO Private Investment Counsel Inc., and Head of Investments for BMO Private Wealth Canada and led teams in the areas of strategy, research, trade execution, product management, and governance.
He has also held VP & Regional Director roles in both Western and Central Canada, and prior to that was a Senior BMO Investment Counsellor in the Southwestern Ontario Marketplace for almost 10 years.
He joined BMO Private Investment Counsel Inc. in 2001.
He holds the Chartered Investment Manager and Certified Financial Planner designations as well as BBA and MBA degrees from the University of New Brunswick and University of Windsor respectively.
